Frustration and rain
I wish I could do something today! The rain has been coming down in torrents. Our customers did not come to pick me up this morning, so I'm assuming that to mean that we won't work. It is frustrating. Gina and I are going on vacation next week, so I have to get everything finished. Having the day off is not my ideal way to accomplish that goal. As you can see in the photo below, the only people working outside today are the fishing boats.
This place is beautiful in the rain. There is a small creek which runs down the mountain and through the center of the property. It reminds me a little of Wright's Falling Waters. Of course, now that it has rained this much, the creek has become the next best thing to a river. The waterfalls are heaving with excess. It is all the more pleasant since I've been listening to a work of music called "The Yellow River Piano Concerto" by Xian Xinghai. It is suppossed to remind you of a trip down the river it was named for. Today might be boring, but it hasn't been distasteful.

I've also had plenty of time to delve into my books. I'm reading the Twilight series right now. I just finished the third book and I'm about 1/5 the way into the last one. I have to say that they are better than I had expected. Stephanie Meyer's style isn't the best, but she is a fine story teller. The plot is very engaging. The books are incredibly maudlin, but you don't care because you get wrapped up in what is going to happen to the characters. I would say the fourth and final book is much better than the previous one. It tended to drag on. The author models her stories after other romance novels. Eclipse was based on Bronte's Wuthering Heights. I hate that book. Maybe that's why Eclipse was my least favorite.

I had been waiting outside the hotel restaurant for my customer to come pick me up. What a big mistake...
