Obamaobamaobama

I think most of you know that I didn't vote for Obama. Now, I am perfectly capable of accepting that my guy didn't win the election. (Although, I wouldn't call McCain my guy. I had to hold my nose to vote for him) Since the American people in their infinite wisdom have spoken, I am more than willing to give the new President a chance to see what happens.

With that being said, I am praying to God in Heaven that I am nowhere near the three airports in Washington D.C. on January the 20th. I predict that it will be Bedlam. My company often likes to fly me out of BWI and that is what I did this morning. You can tell that these airports are getting revved up for the big day. There are Obama hats, Obama T-Shirts, Obama coffee mugs... Just about anything you can think of. Just when I think I've seen it all, I bump into the "Obama Chocolates" this morning. No, you are not imagining this. People are selling chocolates in the shape of Obama's head.

I just get the feeling that there is no moderation involved here. From the left, I see a group of people going insane over a guy they know nothing about. I have heard Obama being called the "messiah" and I'm not sure anymore whether or not it is intended as a joke. On the right hand side, I have heard the most foul criticism of this man who, as of this date, has done absolutely nothing except win an election and pick a few appointments. Is it possible that we could wait for the new president to actually do something before we begin levelling criticism in his direction? Frankly, I don't understand the hysteria from either side. It just doesn't make sense to me.

What DOES make sense to me is this banner hanging over the US Air gate. After all the ways this airline has found to shaft the city of Pittsburgh, this is probably the final straw. Now you know why I have no respect left for them.
