I found a good, cheap hotel near the sea. I am staying next to Long Island Sound between the two states of New York and Connecticut. It is cold but there were many families enjoying the beach. They were feeding the gulls, playing in the sand, and flying their kites in the strong wind.

The name of the hotel is "Marick". The is because the couple who built it were named "Marge" and "Nick". (Marge + Nick = Marick) They started the hotel in 1957. Nick wanted this location because he thought that it was very beautiful and appeared secluded. During the years, Nick and Marge retired and gave the hotel and restaurant to their son, Nick Jr. Today he works here with his kids.

I arrived in Connecticut early because I wanted to study my new Esperanto words. In the afternoon, I went for a walk on the beach and I found benches where I could study in peace. Also, I discovered that this is a perfect location for watching the ships travelling to New York in the sound. I am very relaxed.
